Programs for Teenagers

Programs for Schools

Our children will enter the workforce in what is called “the human and machine partnership era”.

Programs for Educators

The role of educators is inevitably changing. In the past, the teacher’s job was to close the knowledge gap between what students know and what they need to know, and to manage their students in a highly structured, hierarchical context

Programs For Businesses

We love to design programs to serve the specific requirements of the people we are servicing and we invite our clients to co-design with us.
Youngstars programs offer opportunities for children to foster awareness, confidence and self-efficacy and to develop skills that are highly valued in the marketplace. They take a holistic approach to learning and personal development. They are congruent with the four pillars of 21st century education  namely: Skills, Character, Knowledge and Meta-Learning.

Our programs are offered as:

  • weekly workshops throughout the academic year
  • summer camps and retreats
  • individual coaching sessions

Zoom sessions help us connect with participants all over Cyprus, as well as stay safe in times of social distancing.

Youngstars team up with private schools and private institutes as providers of extracurricular activities to make their programs more convenient for teenagers and their parents.

Furthermore, Youngstars alumni have the opportunity to stay connected with like-minded peers, get support on acting on their goals or apply their skills and knowledge to the community through the DreamersDOERS club. Participation is free for our program graduates and we continue to boost them through a series of inspirational talks and workshops.

Learning  by doing and nonformal education -Why are they important?

.

1. Teenhood – how can I support my child ?

Teenhood a stressful process for both children and parents. The change does not only concern the educational part. It’s part of a bigger change: from childhood to adolescence, from dependence to independence, from the familiar to the unknown, from being protected to risk management, from friendships to relationships. Understanding and support from parents and the school environment is essential. But what makes the difference is how the teenagers see themselves and what actions they take.

Our goal at YoungStars is to provide teenagers with tools that will help them better understand themselves better, communicate their needs and respond positively and actively to the challenges they encounter in their daily lives.

2. Skills, Character, Metalearning –why is it important?

Technology is constantly changing and transforming the way we live. Knowledge is necessary but it is not what differentiates us. Today’s demands have more and more to do with how we use what we know, that is, our skills: critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and how we function as members of society, that is, our character and ethos. Each child is unique and has his or her own talents. By reinforcing the values and positive elements of his/her character we can equip him/her to feel capable of managing learning and adopting. If knowledge is power, then learning is a super power.

3. What is non-formal education?

Formal Education (FE) deals with the traditional way of learning – teaching, studying and assessment through standardized examinations. Non Formal Education takes place through carefully designed and tailored activities aimed at learning and cultivating skills in experiential ways. Much more than the formal education, non-formal puts the learners in the centre of the learning process and makes them “collaborators” in the co-creation of knowledge. It is commonly accepted that learing by doing reaches places that formal education cannotand has a long lasting outcome.

4. What are the benefits of learning by doing?

Youngstars Programs are designed to help teenagers become aware, expand their thinking in creating more choices, focusing best when taking decisions and implementing when it comes to action. These empower young people, make them feel resilient and agile, happy to deal with what is in front of them and optimist about change and the future.

5. Why choose Youngstars?

We are passionate in serving young people. Our programs are designed and implemented by professionals who love teenagers and believe in their unlimited potential. We work in small teams so that each young person connects with the trainer and receives time and attention. Our whole approached in designed with the end in mind – we build the bridge from teenhood to adulthood, knowing how to best «prepare the child for the path, not the path for the child”.
